From my home office, in Kelowna B.C., I provide drafting services to a broad range of clients.
Engineers, architects, builders and fabrication shops can all benefit from my drafting services.
I truly enjoy developing highly detailed drawings of building components. Projects that require drawing solutions to complex building methods are some of my favourites.
I also create custom home designs for select and challenging properties. Often, my involvement in a home design project will include management consultation to ensure continued design and support for the home owner or builder.
Whether it is steel detailing, construction drawing, architectural home design, or engineering drafting, I prepare clear concise drawings to suit a variety of disciplines.
I enjoy a large network of business associates, family, and friends that stretches from the Sunshine Coast to the Okanagan Valley and up to the North Thompson region of B.C. This makes it feasible for me to offer my services to a large area. The ability to communicate electronically allows me to take on drawing projects with clients located virtually anywhere.
I draw, yes, but there is more to it than that.
My experience as a red seal carpenter has given me a keen insight as to how various structures are developed and the complex nature of integrating wood and steel frame work with concrete elements. From a drawing and management perspective this hands on experience helps me to understand the process of assembly. My history of working on site helps me anticipate what a crew is expecting from a practical and communication aspect. I strive to create professional drawings that aid in a seamless assembly process.

During my career as a general contractor and licensed residential builder I learned the pressures of maintaining quality while staying true to budget and schedule. As an active site participant I had the opportunity to work closely with a range of stakeholders thus gaining valuable insight of what is important to everyone. Understanding the priorities of various team members helps me to ask the right questions so I may develop the drawings while considering the project as a whole.
I draw, that is true.
However, it is just the rapid click of a mouse on a computer screen. The real value is being able to combine my many years of experience working alongside architects, engineers, builders and trades with my training in Autocad at BCIT. Of course this conversation would not be complete without reference to the BC Building Code of which I am very familiar with. Whether your project is a complex home design or the shop drawing for a single component, understanding the code can help avoid problems and wasted money.
